A couple from Galston, New South Wales, Australia, recently scored a life-changing prize after participating in Oz Lotto. The couple purchased their ticket from Kenthurst Cellars, Shop 1 in Kenthurst Village Shopping Centre on 2 Nelson Street in Kenthurst.
But little did they expect that their ticket for Tuesday’s draw would completely change their lives. That was indeed the case, considering that the Galston couple held the single winning ticket for Oz Lotto’s draw 1587, which awarded them the astronomical AU$40 million ($26.9 million).
The winning numbers from the draw on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, were 1, 10, 15, 18, 33, 36 and 42. Supplementary numbers from the draw were 9, 12 and 27.
After the draw on Tuesday evening, The Lott officials contacted the couple to notify them of their win. Although the names of the lucky couple were not disclosed, according to Lottery officials, the woman was pleasantly surprised and even shocked to realize that she and her husband had just won Oz Lotto’s division one prize.
The Couple Couldn’t Believe Their Luck
The woman revealed that she usually played Powerball but this time, decided to try Oz Lotto. “In our dreams we’ve thought about what we’d do with a big win, but you never think it’s going to come true. It’s unreal,” she revealed.
The fortunate player revealed that she was just about to fall asleep when she was awakened by the Lottery’s official. The winner said that she was stunned and couldn’t believe the incredible luck she had.

Her husband revealed that the hefty lottery win will give them time. “It buys us time to be able to do the things we want to do. And help the people in your life that have helped you and you want to help them back,” he explained.
Finally, he joked around that even before the recent triumph, he had already won the lottery, considering that he has a beautiful wife, he’s healthy and lives in Australia. Despite becoming a millionaire, the husband admitted that he plans to go to work the next day.
Since the start of the year, more than AU$82.45 million ($55.5 million) in prizes have been awarded to winning entries from the Western and Blue Mountains region. The aforementioned sum includes a dozen division one prizes, among other lower-tier payouts.
