A man from Austin has hit a huge jackpot, making them the Lone Star State’s newest millionaire. The player won $29 million from a lottery ticket and announced that they planned to retire and enjoy the rest of their life.
Winning a jackpot or a large prize from playing the lottery is undoubtedly exciting. However, in some cases, more than one player can be lucky enough and depending on the lottery game, the prize may be split.

When a UK man matched all six numbers on the country’s National Lottery, he naturally began dreaming of how to spend the £11 million (US$14.2 million) jackpot.
The grand prize from the popular American lottery game, Mega Millions, survived the latest drawing on Tuesday. Regretfully, nobody was able to guess correctly the winning numbers, 3, 9, 14, 26, 51 and the gold Mega ball 21 for an estimated jackpot of $279 million.
A couple from Galston, New South Wales, Australia, recently scored a life-changing prize after participating in Oz Lotto. The couple purchased their ticket from Kenthurst Cellars, Shop 1 in Kenthurst Village Shopping Centre on 2 Nelson Street in Kenthurst.
Someone in New Jersey won a $1.13 billion Mega Millions jackpot in March but has yet to claim the prize, according to state lottery officials.

This gives rise to the horrible thought that they might be sitting on a billion-dollar fortune without even knowing about it.
Of course, the unknown winner could just be getting their ducks in order. They might be busy hiring a team of lawyers and financial advisers to protect them from the shock of sudden ultra-wealth.
Or maybe they’ve heard of the “lottery curse” and think a billion dollars is more trouble than it’s worth.
