A more than $4.31 million lottery jackpot in Dublin, Ireland, has been won by an online player. The original amount of the jackpot was set at EUR 3.7+ million when a lucky – and still anonymous player – scooped the win on Saturday, May 23. This is the third Lotto jackpot won in 2026 alone.
The player used the Quick Pick option, meaning that there was no real premeditation in his lottery play, subscribing to a point of view that the lottery is a purely random outcome, and there is no need to dwell on the symbolism of numbers, or walk into the trap of the gambler’s fallacy.
The exact sum of the jackpot, EUR 3,731,996, can now be claimed by the winner. The number sussed to secure the ticket were 8, 12, 24, 25, 33, and 45, along with a bonus number of 41. The lottery has also contacted the winner through their online account, notifying them about the life-altering event.
This is also the second time that the lottery jackpot has been claimed in May. Previously, a player won a EUR 8,726,418 ($10.13 million) jackpot on May 2. The player had also played the Quick Pick ticket, which they purchased at an Applegreen Ballymount.
While information about the winner has remained fairly scant, the lottery has confirmed that the person has already contacted the lottery for collection.
