Video: Easy 6 Spot Strategy for 4-Card Keno

A 6-spot is often ideal for many keno players because it balances achievable odds, decent payouts, and frequent partial wins, making it both exciting and less discouraging than 7- or 8-spot tickets. Always check specific game rules and paytables before playing.

The following video offers a technique for playing a 6-spot in 4-card keno. It’s easy to set up and the numbers can be changed to your personal preference.

Here’s an easy way to quickly set up a 6 spot, on the fly, without using the Mystic Keno Charts.

We’re going to build the 6 spot based on the basic three spot overlap, discussed in another video.

The basic three spot reduction is easy to remember as a pattern, or just as four numbers. It’s a handy starting point to expand into five, six spot, or 7 spot territory.

But for bigger spots, or to blend different numbers, consider the Mystic Keno charts. I’ll send you a sample chart if you click on the link above or visit The Mystic Gambler.com.

OK, so first we’ll create the three spots on each card. I like to make a second pass to add the additional numbers, in this case three, to make the six spot. Notice that we’re actually playing eight numbers across the cards.

And there you have it. A six spot play that allows you to have wins on multiple cards, while adding two additional numbers to the mix. Use it and you’ll play longer, win more often and have more opportunities to hit a 6 out of 6.

Bonus Info:
Why a 6-Spot Might Be a Good Idea: Balance of Odds and Payouts: A 6-spot offers a reasonable chance of hitting all numbers (1 in 7,752) compared to 7-spot (1 in 40,979) or 8-spot (1 in 230,114), while still offering substantial payouts for hitting all 6 (often hundreds or thousands of times the bet, depending on the casino).

Frequent Partial Wins: The odds of hitting 4 or 5 numbers on a 6-spot are better than getting equivalent partial wins on 7- or 8-spots, keeping players engaged with smaller, more frequent payouts.

Lower Risk, High Reward: For casual players, a 6-spot provides a sweet spot—less daunting odds than 7- or 8-spots, but payouts are still significant compared to smaller tickets (e.g., 3- or 4-spots) that pay less for full matches.
Manageable Cost: Playing a 6-spot keeps ticket costs reasonable, especially in multi-race or multi-card play, compared to higher-spot tickets that may require larger bets for similar payout potential.

Considerations Casino Variations: Payouts and odds vary by casino or online platform. Some offer better returns for 6-spots than others, so checking paytables is key.

Player Goals: If chasing massive jackpots, an 8-spot might tempt players due to higher top payouts, but the odds are far worse. For consistent play and enjoyment, 6-spots strike a practical balance.

May the good news be yours
