IGT and MGM Springfield Add WAP IGT Wheel of Fortune Games

IGT and MGM Springfield have launched wide-area progressive (WAP) slot games in Massachusetts, part of a recent scaling of operations and an ambition to further consolidate their position in the Bay State area.

IGT and MGM Springfield Launch Wheel of Fortune Slots Zone

The WAP games connect to an ecosystem of slot games that pool their jackpots and lead to more frequent and bigger payouts.

The games are available at the MGM Springfield dedicated Wheel of Fortune Slots Zone that clearly separates the titles from the rest of the gaming floor, and features 20 high-performing WAP games.

Among the titles accessible on IGT’s cabinets are such options as Wheel of Fortune Cash Link Reels Double Diamond, Wheel of Fortune Triple Gold Spin and Wheel of Fortune Triple Stars Gold Spin Deluxe, to name a few.

Commenting on the launch, MGM Springfield Vice President of Casino Operations Ariam Aponte said:

“MGM Springfield is excited to continue our tradition of firsts by becoming the first casino in Massachusetts to offer players the chance to win life-changing jackpots on IGT’s Wheel of Fortune slot games.

Our recently opened Wheel of Fortune Zone differentiates MGM Springfield, features an exciting mix of slot experiences, and offers jackpot opportunities that are new to players in Massachusetts.”

The minimum that players may win from a game will vary based on the titles, with the jackpot values always resetting to a range between $200,000 and $1.1 million, offering plenty of opportunities to win.

IGT Celebrates the Latest Expansion of Its Games Reach

Commenting on the new launch with MGM Springfield, IGT CEO Hector Fernandez hailed this development as a significant step forward for the company and what it meant to first succeed as a provider of physical gaming experiences:

“Launching the first wide-area progressive games in Massachusetts with MGM Springfield gives players a new way to experience Wheel of Fortune Slots as we mark its 30th anniversary. IGT helped shape the WAP category through decades of innovation, and this launch builds on that legacy while creating new opportunities for our customers and their players.”

Wheel of Fortune has been one of the most successful game series, with the slots first introduced back in 1996.

The games have paid out more than $3.6 billion in jackpots and turned 1,200 people into millionaires. IGT also holds a license to produce Wheel of Fortune-themed games through 2034. The latest addition is a fitting way to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary, IGT has noted.
