A quick stop for gas turned into a life-changing windfall for one lucky Illinois Lottery player, after a single ticket bought at a Chicago service station snagged a massive $7.4 million jackpot in the Monday, October 26 drawing.
The winning slip—purchased at the BP station located at 6751 W. Archer Avenue on Chicago’s Southwest Side—matched all six main numbers: 6, 12, 13, 14, 30, and 42. In a fun twist of luck, another line on the exact same ticket matched two numbers, adding an extra $2 to make the grand total payout $7,400,002!
A Lucky Streak on Archer Avenue The gas station’s long-time manager, Abraham, couldn’t contain his excitement after learning his location served up the top-tier prize.
“I can’t believe it — it’s so exciting to have a jackpot-winning ticket sold right here at our store. I hope it was one of our regulars,” Abraham shared. “I’ve been the manager for nearly 20 years. We sold a $100,000 Lucky Day Lotto ticket a few months ago, so this seems to be our lucky year.”
The store is cashing in on the luck, too. For selling the winning ticket, the BP station pockets a $74,000 seller’s bonus (1% of the jackpot value).
Illinois Lotto Hot Streak Monday’s draw marks the third-largest Illinois Lotto jackpot hit so far in 2026, trailing only an $11.6 million hit in Bartlett back in January and a $10.25 million score at a Chicago supermarket in August.
It wasn’t the only big prize handed out that night, either. Another player in Sauget, Illinois matched all six numbers in the Lotto Million 2 drawing on the same evening to bag a cool $1 million prize.
As of now, the $7.4M winner has yet to come forward. Illinois Lottery officials advise the lucky ticket holder to sign the back of the ticket immediately and keep it in a safe place. Winners in the Land of Lincoln have up to one full year from the draw date to claim their prize.
