I don’t blame you for asking yourself, ‘How can science make me luckier?’ ‘That’s just stupid.’ ‘Isn’t luck is just the product of the happenstance of living?’
But not so fast. A fascinating psychological study suggests that this isn’t always the case.
By studying the behavior and attitude of ‘lucky’ people, psychologist Richard Wiseman discovered that luck is associated with a specific set of behaviors. He actually published a book about his findings.
Check out these four things that he discovered about the nature of ‘lucky people’:
People who are lucky make it a practice to notice, create, and take advantage of opportunities. They have a blend of a laid-back but inquisitive attitude toward life and a willingness to try new things.
Lucky people are also in touch with their intuition. They don’t dismiss gut instincts and they set aside ‘alone time’ to just sit or relax. They might practice mindfulness or meditate in various ways to rid their minds of unwanted thoughts.
People who are lucky anticipate good fortune. They naturally expect something good is going to be happening. They tend to be upbeat people who persevere in the face of adversity. They easily dust themselves off if they fall and get back into the game.
Another thing about lucky people is their ability to turn back luck into good fortune. Even when awful things happen, lucky people are grateful that it wasn’t any worse. They look at bad events as a learning opportunity rather than a source of negativity.
I was so intrigued by Wiseman’s findings that I read his study and also found an audio download called ‘Increase Your Luck’ that was based on his findings. It’s actually a self-hypnosis session. I listen to it regularly and it helps me in my life and in the casino.
Listening to it retrains your brain to see life through the eyes of people that are naturally lucky – and how to use that thinking process to achieve a state of luckiness for your own life.

My theory is to use anything I can that might give me more of an advantage.
