A second Mega Millions drawing in a row has gone without either a jackpot winner or a Match 5 prize. As a result, the jackpot has continued to swell, reaching a staggering $150 million for the Friday drawing.
Mega Millions Experiences the Occasional Slowdown
Yesterday’s Mega Millions drawing did not elect a winner of the game’s grand prize. In addition to that, the drawing was the second in a row to not award a prize of $2 million or more, either, marking a temporary lull in the game.
The winning numbers drawn on April 21 were 1, 36, 43, 56, and 58, plus the gold Mega Ball 7. Matching all of them could have won a hypothetical winner some $140 million if they went with the annuity for the full sum, or $62.8 million if they chose the one-time lump-sum payment.
Additionally, matching the five white numbers but not the Mega Ball could have netted players a prize of between $2 million and $10 million, depending on the multiplier. While this did not happen in this drawing, five players managed to win the next prize in line after matching four white numbers plus the gold Mega Ball. Two of them won $20,000 each. At the same time, one player took home $40,000 due to their 4x multiplier, while another two took home $50,000 each on a 5x multiplier.
Since the game’s jackpot was not won, it has now increased to $150 million with a cash option of $67.3 million. The next drawing is set to take place this Friday at 11 pm ET.
Two Mega Millions Jackpots Were Awarded
The first Mega Millions jackpot for 2026 was won at the beginning of March when a lucky player in Illinois matched all winning numbers. A few days later, the player came forward to claim the jaw-dropping $536 million she won.
Only two drawings after this jackpot was hit, a separate player in Ohio won a $60 million jackpot. The second top prize landed on St. Patrick’s Day, with Mega Millions playfully attributing it to the “luck of the Irish.”
