The Mega Millions jackpot has reached yet another important milestone as the top prize hit the $300 million mark. With the Tuesday drawing just around the corner, players will get another shot at this life-changing sum.
Mega Millions Awarded Five Five-Figure Sums
The Friday Mega Millions drawing had players competing for a $277 million jackpot with a cash option of $117.3 million. Despite the temptations offered by the prize, no one managed to match all six winning numbers required to score a win.
For reference, the winning numbers for the September 25 drawing were 25, 57, 58, 67, and 68, plus the gold Mega Ball 16.
In addition to no jackpot win occurring, the drawing also did not award any Match 5 prizes since no one managed to nail all five white numbers. At the same time, five players managed to match four white numbers plus the gold Mega Ball, which netted them five-figure prizes.
Three of those players won $20,000 each on a 2x multiplier, while the remaining two won $30,000 each on a 3x multiplier.
Since a jackpot win did not occur, the Mega Millions jackpot continued to grow and finally hit the $300 million mark. A hypothetical winner of this prize would be presented with an option between the annuitized version of the full sum or a one-time lump sum payment of $124.1 million.
The next drawing is set to take place today, September 29, at 11 pm ET.
The Fourth Jackpot Win of 2026 Has Yet to Become a Reality
In the meantime, the September 22 drawing awarded a $2 million prize to a very lucky player in the state of Colorado. The player won the prize after matching all five white numbers for the drawing (7, 13, 26, 37, and 68).
The Mega Millions game has awarded three jackpots in 2026. The third Mega Millions jackpot was won in July, following 38 consecutive drawings without a win. Both previous jackpots landed in March.
