A Jackpot of $588,000 Won by Hoosier Lottery Player

The Hoosier Lottery has turned another man’s life around. After playing the lottery’s $5 Lighting Cash Fast Play game, Dave Click, a resident of Peru, Indiana, won the $588,054 jackpot. Click bought the ticket at Peru Pantry, a shop located at 286 W. Main Street in Miami County. At first, he couldn’t believe his luck when he saw 22 lightning bolts. When he confirmed that he was indeed the winner, Click immediately called his wife. According to the Hoosier Lottery, Click’s wife was half asleep when he called it. At first, she thought that her husband was trying to pull a prank. Click had to underscore that he was indeed a lottery winner to make his wife take his claim seriously.

A lawyer for Edwin Castro, the winner of the biggest lottery prize of all time, says he has viewed security video of his client purchasing the historic Powerball ticket. David De Paoli believes the footage will banish a lawsuit filed by a man named Jose Rivera, who claims to be the rightful winner of the $2.08 billion prize. Jackpot: Cromwell Casino Winner Hits for $1.1M in Las Vegas

A lucky California resident visiting Las Vegas’s Cromwell won more than $1.1M on a gaming table over the weekend.

Troy Bright of Dana Point, Calif., collected $1,155,366 via a mega progressive jackpot while playing Face Up Pai Gow Poker.

He won the payout after less than 30 minutes of play at the Caesars Entertainment property. The jackpot came on his second hand.

Bright was in Las Vegas to watch Sunday’s Las Vegas Raiders versus New York Jets game at Allegiant Stadium.

He will be sharing the payout with his family. He’s a Caesars Rewards member.

Two Wins in an Hour

On Sunday at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, an unnamed player hit two jackpots within a single hour while playing slot machines.

The total payout was $405K at the Caesars Entertainment property. The first jackpot was for $105K at 1:37 a.m. The second jackpot was $300K at 2:37 a.m.

He’s also a Caesars Rewards member. There’s no word on how he will spend the money.

Other Jackpots

  • On October 27, Gloria Billeci of Ontario, Canada, won $222,899 while playing Mississippi Stud Poker at the Horseshoe Las Vegas. Billeci was visiting Las Vegas with her daughter. Billeci said she would set the money aside for her retirement but will use some cash to purchase an expensive gift.
  • On October 25, Stephen G. hit a $203,180 payout at Sunset Station Hotel and Casino in Henderson, Nev. He won the money while playing Wheel of Fortune Gold Spin Double Sapphire. He bet $3.75 for the progressive jackpot.
  • Also, on October 25, a player at Chicken Ranch Casino in Jamestown, Calif., won a record $439,972 on a slot machine. The lucky player, Lavina, bet $2.50 on a Hot Stuff progressive-linked machine.
  • On October 23, Kanchana Davis won $786K while playing Ultimate Texas Hold’Em at the Gila River Resorts & Casinos – Santan Mountain. She won with a royal flush, and the payout was the largest table games win since the Chandler, Ariz. casino opened in July.
  • On September 26, at Florida’s Seminole Classic Casino Hollywood, a mystery player won $218,080.70 while playing a Royal Reels slot machine. It was the casino’s largest jackpot of the month and second largest of the year. The player had bet $50.
  • On September 14, at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa, another unnamed player won $273,801.84 while playing The Hunt for Neptune’s Gold Diamond.
  • On September 8, an unnamed winner from Melbourne, Fla., won $1,100,229.41 at Florida’s Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood. The payout on the game came from a $125 bet.

Five lucky winners who also guessed such numbers secured a Power Play prize of $100,000 each.

Last week, a lucky man from Albuquerque hit the jackpot from Lotto America. The man secured the prize from the drawing on November 4, 2023, taking home the staggering $3.52 million jackpot. While the person had the option to use randomly generated numbers, he decided to pick them himself and used them for Lotto America, Powerball and Mega Millions tickets.

Marmorato’s Triumph May Impact Bally’s NY Casino Bid

The casino industry is wary of the future of Bally’s Bronx casino project following Kristy Marmorato’s triumph in the Bronx. The Republican, who has previously expressed her opposition to the project, won the Bronx seat at the New York City Council.

Marmorato dealt a historic defeat to her opponent, the incumbent District 13 representative Marjorie Velasquez, turning a Bronx seat red for the first time in decades. Unfortunately for Bally’s, Marmorato isn’t as supportive of its casino project as Velasquez.

Velasquez supported the casino operator’s project, believing it to be a potential boon to the local economy. Marmorato, on the other hand, sees the planned casino as a potential nightmare for the well-being of the local people.

According to the newly elected District 13 representative, the Bronx is one of the New York areas with the highest asthma rates. As a result, the traffic a casino can generate could be an “environmental nightmare.”

Marmorato will step into the office in January and could turn out to be be a major setback for Bally’s plans.

The NY Casino License Race Continues

The Ferry Links Golf Course is a famous property that was leased to the Trump Organization, which enhanced it by developing a large clubhouse and an events facility. Bally’s current plan is to also construct a casino resort at the property, should it win one of the three downstate New York licenses currently on the table.

Bally’s secured the transfer of the lease in a $60 million deal with the Trump Organization a few weeks ago, allowing it to proceed with its pitch.

The 20-year lease was issued to the Trump Organization in 2015 but caused controversies in the wake of the Capitol riot. The New York Parks Department now hopes that Bally’s would be a suitable successor to the property and will take good care of it.

Last month, the Soloviev Group updated its proposal in hopes of winning one of the three casino licenses. The group published an updated plan that featured over 500 permanent affordable housing units, hoping to make its bid more appealing.

Speaking of New York, the state became the first US jurisdiction to surpass $2 billion in monthly betting handle after hitting a staggering $2,006,823,408 in September.
