The winning numbers for Monday night’s Powerball drawing have been revealed, showing that no one won the game’s top prize. However, the drawing did award three Match 5 prizes, making it the sixth consecutive drawing where seven-figure sums have been won.
Three More Players Became Millionaires
The Monday jackpot had players competing for a top prize of $929 million with a cash option of $402.4 million. The top prize remained a pipe dream since no one managed to match all six winning numbers. At the same time, a few players came very close, matching either all five numbers or four numbers and the Powerball.
Speaking of numbers, the winning ones for the Monday Powerball drawing were 6, 37, 54, 55, and 64, plus the red Powerball 10. The Power Play multiplier for the drawing was 3x.
As mentioned, a few players succeeded in matching all the white ones, which netted them seven-figure prizes. One player in Maryland won $1 million. A player in California would have won the same sum, but will instead take home roughly $1.5 million due to the unique way the state calculates lottery prizes. Last but definitely not least, a player in Tennessee won $2 million thanks to Power Play.
In addition to that, dozens of players matched four white numbers plus the Powerball. Some 30 such participants secured prizes of $50,000. Another 14 had the Power Play feature active and will take home $150,000 each, instead.
Players Have Been Winning Big
Since the jackpot remained unclaimed, it has now climbed to $975 million with a cash option of $422.3 million. If another unsuccessful drawing goes by, the jackpot is almost certain to hit the $1 billion mark.
The Next drawing is set to take place this Wednesday, providing players with another chance to win the prize of a lifetime.
The latest Powerball drawings were rich in Match 5 prizes as player activity ramped up due to the huge jackpot. The Saturday drawing alone awarded five seven-figure Match 5 prizes, including one $2 million prize secured by a player in Texas.
Earlier drawings saw a player in Ohio secure $1 million, and a player in Wisconsin take home $2 million. On August 1, six players walked out with seven-figure sums, with one player in Virginia grabbing $2 million thanks to Power Play.
