Last Wednesday, he was reportedly at the airport, possibly waiting for or exiting a flight. In the B Concourse, he decided to try his luck at a Wheel of Fortune slot machine. The cost of the spin was not disclosed by the airport.
On Thursday, the airport announced the victory on Twitter. It wished him well and invited other travelers to try their luck at the slots.
Many individuals responded with their own congratulations after reading the message. Some people also pointed out that the older machines in the airport rarely pay out large jackpots.
Airport Jackpots in the Past
However, this is not the first time in recent years that a prize has been won in the Las Vegas airport.
Megan H. of Flower Mound, Texas, was the winner of more than $302,000 on February 25, 2021. In the B Concourse, she was also playing a Wheel of Fortune slot machine.
She decided to try her luck while waiting for her flight.
Kaoru H., a Torrance, California woman, played a Wheel of Fortune 4D penny slot inside the airport’s C Concourse in July 2020. She tried her luck with a $5 slot spin after landing. It was a direct hit. She took home $873,511 in prize money.
The greatest jackpot at McCarran is thought to have been won in 2005. A gamer won $3,961,585.14 at that time.
The terminal buildings of Reid Airport have around 1,400 slot machines. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many were not in use.
