Texan Wins the Second-Largest Two Step Jackpot Ever

An incredibly lucky Texan has won the second-biggest Two Step jackpot in the game’s history. This is also the biggest prize to land in some 20 years.

An Almost Record-Setting Prize

According to the Texas Lottery, a lucky player in the state has won a jaw-dropping $2.4 million jackpot from the drawing on March 5. This was notably one of the largest figures the jackpot has ever reached.

For context, the Texas Two Step game launched in 2001. In 2006, a stellar $2.9 million jackpot landed in San Antonio, marking the largest sum the game has ever awarded. While the record has yet to be beaten, the recent prize is now the game’s second-largest jackpot ever, beating the $2.25 million jackpot that landed in 2023.

Official lottery data shows that the winning numbers for the March 5 drawing were as follows: 2, 3, 19, and 29, with a Bonus number of 9. After matching all of them, a player in Dallas won the top prize. The lottery also noted that the player had used the Quick Pick option.

According to lottery officials, the winning ticket was sold at 7-Eleven Convenience Store #36361A in Dallas.

The jackpot has since been reset to $200,000. The next drawing will take place on March 9, 2026.

Mega Millions Jackpot Nears $500M

In the meantime, the Mega Millions jackpot is nearing the $500 million mark as today’s drawing looms. While the Tuesday drawing was a somewhat unexciting one, the recent Powerball windfall has sparked renewed enthusiasm about the jackpot.

Elsewhere, the Illinois Lottery’s FastPlay Ultimate Diamond Jackpot Game just awarded a $1,694,919 jackpot to a lucky player, shortly after another one won $1,497,172 from the Cash Castle game.
