Gun Pulled at Bally’s Dover Craps Table: Former Employee Arrested After Violent Dispute

Woman Pistol-Whips a Man in Bally’s Casino, Turns Herself In

Picture this: a tense argument erupts at a crowded craps table inside Bally’s Dover Casino. Tempers flare, cash flies, and suddenly a handgun appears. What started as a heated dispute quickly turned dangerous — and now a former casino employee is behind bars.

On March 14, an argument broke out at the craps table when a male patron allegedly struck a female patron in the face with cash. In response, the woman — later identified as Jacklyn Twitchell — reportedly pulled out a handgun and hit the man in the face, causing visible injuries. She then refused to cooperate with casino security and quickly left the premises.

Twitchell turned herself in to Delaware State Police Troop 3 on Friday, March 20. She was arraigned on multiple serious charges and later transferred to Sussex Correctional Institution, where she’s being held on $26,000 cash bail. The condition of the alleged victim has not been publicly disclosed.

She now faces charges including second-degree assault, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and aggravated menacing. In Delaware, introducing a firearm into an assault can dramatically escalate both the charges and the potential penalties.

The Big Question: How Did the Gun Get Inside?

Delaware’s Division of Gaming Enforcement, which oversees casino security and investigates crimes on the gaming floor, led the investigation. Officials confirmed Twitchell previously worked at Bally’s, though the exact timing and reason for her departure remain unclear.

What’s even more puzzling is how she managed to bring a firearm onto the casino floor in the first place. While Delaware allows concealed carry with a proper license, most casinos — including Bally’s — strictly prohibit weapons and maintain tight security with metal detectors and constant surveillance.

Bally’s Dover Casino, located in the state capital, is a popular destination offering slots, table games, and even a harness racing track. It draws both locals and out-of-state visitors. Firearm-related incidents on casino floors are rare thanks to rigorous security measures, making this kind of violent confrontation at a craps table especially shocking.

Thankfully, in this case, no one was shot. But the incident serves as a stark reminder of how quickly things can escalate. Just last month, a much more tragic gun-related event occurred near another Bally’s property when a teenager was fatally shot outside Bally’s Kansas City Casino.

The investigation continues, and this unusual casino drama has left many wondering how a former employee was able to bypass security with a handgun — and what it means for safety inside Delaware’s gaming venues.
