Occasionally I’ll drift away from my video poker play to find a good four card keno machine and try to win a 6 spot, which I do quite frequently. By a good machine I mean one that might have a better pay table than others. Just like video poker, Four Card Keno paytables can vary quite a bit. Even in the same casino. So you want to find the best opportunities.
Usually I’ll set my sites on a 6 spot when I play Four Card Keno. The reason I do that is because I’ll get a good shot at a sizeable win while still getting a decent payback when I hit the lower wins. That’s different than going for the 5 spot which will bleed you dry unless you get 5 out of 5 fairly quick, although the 5 spot can be a better game under certain circumstances . We’ll save that discussion for another time. Playing the Four Card Keno 6 spot can stretch your bankroll and by doing so you’ll have more opportunities to win the big 6 out of 6. And if you play smart, and ‘get in the zone’, you’ll be surprised at how often that will happen.
One of the ways to play smart is to use the strategy that I outline in the video below. It’s one of three strategies that I use when I play for the 6 spot and if you use it, I think you’ll see why. When I do stray from video poker and move over to Four Card Keno, this strategy will often give me a jackpot. The other method that I use is distributing base numbers evenly across all four keno cards. It’s a little more complicated so I developed a system of charts to do the work for me. Actually, the technique in the video below uses a partial distribution strategy because it’s based on the mystic 3 spot. Checkout the Chart Pack to find out more about it.

Hi there! I’ve watched your videos and had good luck last trip with your four card strategy. I had a very hot machine but I hit 6/7 8 different times within about 2 hours! We have a trip planned for tomorrow for our local casino and I want to try my hand at 20 card for a bit. And suggestions? So you do 10 7 spots and 10 6 spots? Can you send me that chart? I bought your pdf but that particular chart wasn’t included. Also, what is your strategy for picking base numbers? Do you ever pick strictly consecutive numbers? Let’s say, 8 horizontal or 8 vertical? Or do you try to make it groupings of 3? I’m very curious and I saw this in action last time, eager to try again! I decided to play Keno and after visiting your website, On July 29th I decided to try the Mystic 7 Spot on Four Card Keno. Concentrated Mystic 5 Spot Smart Chart, :30 Min Session @ The Mystic Gambler site.
I hit the 5 spot 3 times during the session with this reduction, the 3rd hit was on 4 cards!! The same numbers have produced 5 spots 3 out of 5 sessions, yes! I am a believer! I have other reductions with very good results on the web sites 4 card Keno game, time to take it to the next level, field test at the casino! I will keep you posted on my progress, I know its gambling, but confess I am excited. I will do 5 field test, then asses and adjust as needed, using my most productive reduction charts, 7 & 6 Base number. I hope you make more videos, and expand on the “How to”. You’re very welcome. And yes, I actually love playing the 5 spot as well. It’s an incredible feeling when you hit it on all four cards. I use the charts just like everybody here. As a matter of fact,I’ve received several emails from followers like yourself, complete with photos of such wins. Now hitting a 7 spot is great and wonderful, I admit that, and if you catch it on two or three cards it’s spectacular – but it just doesn’t come often enough to keep my endorphins cranked. Don’t get me wrong, I still play the 7 spot, but the 5 and the 6 are my sweet spots.
Is there a different strategy when playing 8-liner keno vs casino video keno? Also can you do the same strategy on regular video keno, if 4 card keno is unavailable?
Well, you can’t play 4 cards if you’re playing single card video keno so no, the ‘strategy’ wouldn’t work. If you can’t find a four card video keno machine, I would suggest that you play live keno and play four cards at a time using the charts. See if the casino might offer a cheap special.

That’s a string of bad luck for sure. But here’s the thing – with the charts you can change the numbers to fit any situation. You use your own numbers – not those that I use in that old video. If you see a bias of where the numbers fall, change your numbers. If you feel lucky about certain ones – change it if you want to. What the charts do is give you the correct combinations out of your base numbers. So you can change your base numbers to fit the situation. Good luck! And thanks for your comment. / TMG

I recently received the Smart Charts e-mail. I play keno at home and try a lot of different combos always looking for some good trends. On your charts for your base #’s do you use a number progression or some other method. I personally prefer the vertical columns as is much easier on the eyes. The four card keno with 2 sixes, a seven, and a nine all on the same nine #’s has paid handsome dividends for me. Please advise.
I’m glad the charts are paying off for you. And thanks for leaving a comment here. When I select my base numbers for the charts I do go through several processes. The first level is patterns and clusters. That is briefly discussed in the chart pack that you have. I will expand on that in future chart packs (your updates are free).Next I determine how tight the spread of the pattern will be. And that will be determined mostly by the size of my target spot. As you mentioned, the vertical distribution is important but that’s something that will generally fall into place with the appropriate pattern. Lastly I relax and seek intuitive guidance from my subconscious mind. I want to be receptive to any perceived bias in the RNG while at the same time allow my consciousness to feel secure in the knowledge that I have chosen the correct numbers. It’s a balance. : )

Well… what a night. Was playing at Goldcoast and hit on one game (8 spot) Two 8/8s and Two 7/8s for $5835. I used the base numbers you show and added 41 and 72. Before I even hit that jackpot, I had hit 7/8 earlier for $417 and several 6/8s for $25.00 each. My total investment for the evening was $80. I was already up $500 or so. This was the first time I ever hit 8/8 and I got two in one game. The strategy seems to keep you in the game with a bunch of small wins. I’m a believer.

Are the numbers that you picked in the 3rd quadrant just your lucky numbers or is that based on statistics? I have always picked numbers from the last quadrant but with limited luck. It really is about the winning and not just the playing that counts! Thanks
Thanks for the question -The reasons that I’m partial to the 3rd quadrant is that it’s more at my eye level and a comfortable angle because my wife sits to my left. There is no statistical advantage but I did once catch my wife flirting with a man from Brazil.

Above, you say you like a 6 spot? I just got done watching your tight reduction from a 6 to a 5 spot. Which is the better option?
A five spot will give you a better payout (in proportion to the amount of your bet) when you hit all five spots. And the odds of getting the top award (the 5 spot) are better than a going for the 6 spot. BUT when you play the 5 spot you don’t get paid much on the lower hits (like a 3 out of 5) and there are only two awards below it. Now a 6 spot pays better on the lower hits, and there’s more of them. So you can play longer. I play both but I have to confess that I really love the 5 spot for the thrill factor. You’re going to win or lose very fast! And in proportion to your bet, it’s going to be a good hit.

Last month, at the Aquarius Casino in Laughlin, NV., I was basically hitting 5 spots every time I took a break from the video poker machines. My wife couldn’t believe it.
